Civil War in Liberia
October 1990, Monrovia, Liberia --- Members of the Independent National Patriotic Front of Liberia (INPFL) question a group of young civilians accused of collaborating with enemy forces. Responding to years of government corruption and oppression, in 1989 the National Patriotic Front of Liberia (NPFL) launched a revolt against President Samuel Doe, seizing control of much of Liberia and plunging the country into massive civil war. The INPFL, a splinter group of the NPFL, is responsible for the execution of President Doe. --- Image by © Patrick Robert/Sygma/Corbis
