16 Apr 1996, Monrovia, Liberia --- In April 1996, the Liberian State Council sent police-militia to arrest Prince Roosevelt Johnson on murder charges. As a direct result, fighting broke out in Monrovia between NPFL (National Patriotic Front of Liberia) and ULIMO-J fighters, loosely allied under Johnson.
